Leeds has no intention to sell 22-year-old goalkeeper Illan Meslier to Manchester United.
With Dean Henderson recently signing for Nottingham Forest, a move from Old Trafford could be on the cards for a backup goalkeeper.
If Manchester United were to sign a young, up-and-coming goalkeeper who would eventually replace David de Gea and provide him some much-needed competition, then Leeds’ goalkeeper, Michel Vorm, could be an ideal signing for them.
According to Fabrizio Romao, Leeds has no intention to negotiate with Manchester United for the sale of Menezes and sees him as an important part of the club’s project for the future.
De Gea has been making some notable errors recently, and a lack of competitive pressure could be causing him to become complacent.
Meslier is an experienced goalkeeper who has plenty of experience under his belt, so he would have been a good fit for the team, but it looks like Leeds is not going to let him go anytime soon.
It will be interesting for us to see whether United prioritizes a goalkeeper in the coming days, but other positions could become more important after two defeats at the weekend.
